This Summer Conestoga is having a Summer Reading Challenge!
For each letter in the alphabet, there will be a task.
On the last week of school, you will get a packet of two papers. One is the Conestoga Summer Reading Challenge paper, and the other is for your public library.
Every public library in Lancaster holds a Summer Reading Challenge too. If you complete the challenge from your public library, you will receive a bunch of fun prizes!
For Conestoga’s Reading Challenge, the paper is due on September 9, 2022. Please make sure your paper is initialed and signed by a parent/guardian. Our reading specialist, Mrs. Bushong, will have a fun prize or activity for those who complete the task and return their signed paper on time.
Former students of Conestoga Elementary, who are graduating tonight, came back to visit our school yesterday. Congratulations to all graduating seniors!
Two students from Mrs. Eckroat’s fifth grade class were featured in the Lancaster Newspaper’s Journalism Contest circular on Wednesday, May 25. Students had to write a brief editorial on something in our world that needs to be changed and why. Any student in the county could participate, so Conestoga is very proud of these two students for having their writing selected to be printed in the newspaper.
Monday, May 23 – Hot Dog
Tuesday, May 31 – Chicken Nuggets
Wednesday, June 1 – Brunch for Lunch – Pancakes/French Toast
Thursday, June 2 – Assorted Pizza
Friday, June 3 – Last Day of School – 11:30 Dismissal – no lunch served
Once again our PTO pulled off another extraodinary event. This year’s Fun Run was just that…FUN! There was a giant red arch to start the run, a DJ, Comet Man, balloons, photos and a ton of fun. Fantastic memories were made.
Please join us for the last PTO meeting for this school year.
When: Thursday, May 12, 2022
Where: out back of the school at the picnic tables…bring a chair
Today, Friday, May 6 is National School Lunch Hero Day!
THANK YOU Mrs. Charles and Mrs. Gery for your dedicated service and support to our students and staff. You are appreciated!
Don’t let Friday’s forecast stop you from coming to Conestoga Elementary PTO’s End of Year Picnic Fun Fest on May 6 from 6 to 8 pm. If it is raining, we will be inside the gym. There will be food, music, an inflatable slide, lawn games, and the annual cakewalk.
All activities are free of charge! All Conestoga Elementary students receive a FREE hot dog, bag of chips, and drink. Additional food and beverages from local food trucks will be available for purchase.
The PTO is still looking for dessert donations for the cakewalk. They can be dropped off in the school office or brought directly to the picnic.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Conestoga Fun Run will take place rain or shine on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 9:15am-11:15am. While PTO delayed fundraising until 2023 for this event, the FUN will not be delayed! Our “Let’s Get Wild” themed Fun Run will be held outdoors on the hardscape around back of the school building. Please visit the link below to see the itinerary and sign-up opportunities for volunteers with clearances on file. There will also be a spectator area for family and friends who would like to attend and cheer on the students. The spectator area will not have access to students or activities, just for cheering! If rain occurs, the event will be held indoors and no spectators will be permitted.
