Our students love putting coins in the water cooler jugs. This year’s grand total raised during the two-week penny extravaganza was $765.31. The PTO keeps this money to use for assemblies, offsetting field trip costs, and other fun activities for your children. Thank you to all the parents and families for your generous donations. The winning classes are listed below and have earned an ice cream treat from the PTO.

At Conestoga Elementary we test our water daily for nitrate levels. Today for the first time since I have been here it tested slightly higher than is allowed, so for the time being we are going to have the students drink bottled water. Higher than normal levels are not safe for children under 6 months to drink. Even though our population is obviously over 6 months, I would rather provide bottled water until we test below the allowed range. Today a letter is coming home with your student that explains in more detail why levels of nitrates sometimes reach a higher level. We will test our water again tomorrow and again everyday when we come back from the holiday weekend to make sure our levels have gone back to our normal levels.
Millersville University’s Public Weather Awareness Day will occur on April 2nd (11 am to 3 pm in Pucillo).

For those of you who use the Y program there is a schedule change for next week. The Y will be closing all of its sites to allow for an all staff training day on Monday 3/21. There will be no before school, Wrap or after school care that day. All students who normally attend our program will either need to be picked up or take the bus home that day. Hopefully, you were already notified by the Y if you use their services and were able to make other arrangements.
