As you know, preplanned trip forms will not be approved during the administration of the PSSA tests. It’s important for you to have the test information as early as possible so we are sharing the schedule that was posted from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Please plan accordingly so your children don’t miss valuable instruction time. Thank you.
All preschool children, age 3 to pre-K, along with their parent/guardian, are invited to join us at Conestoga Elementary for a preschool lunch and learn hour on the following dates:
- Tuesday, March 10, from 11:45 to 12:45
- Wednesday, April 8, from 11:45 to 12:45
- Tuesday, May 12, from 11:45 to 12:45
Some of the advantages to having your child attend these sessions are:
- Exposure to language and learning skills needed for kindergarten
- Opportunity to meet the kindergarten teacher at Conestoga
- Become familiar with the school building
- An easier transition to kindergarten
Lunch is free for your preschooler, and adults may buy lunch or pack one. The March 10th lunch is cheeseburger on a roll, baked French fries, celery & dip, assorted fruit, ice cream & milk. The April and May lunch menu has not been determined yet. We will post that closer to the time.
On March 13th, all students will have the opportunity to have Spring pictures taken here at school. Spring portraits support our school. A flyer will soon be coming home with your child.
This year Lifetouch is producing a Spring class picture keepsake that you can order & pay for that day ($12.00). That info is part of the flyer.
No other money is due on picture day. Once pictures are returned, you can decide if you want anything/everything from the package and pay accordingly.
Although candy orders were turned in last week, if there are any late orders this week, you can still turn them in up until Friday morning. Thank you.
Thanks to everyone for bringing in over 11,000 box tops for our collection challenge. The winning class was Mrs. Ochs with 1192 box tops collected. They will enjoy a cafe lunch for their reward. Saving and collecting box tops is a great way to earn money for our school. Keep clipping and saving them for Conestoga!
Due to extremely cold weather conditions, all Penn Manor schools will operate on a two-hour delay, with modified kindergarten, on Friday, February 20.
Because of the threat of record cold and high winds Friday, parents are reminded to make sure their children are wearing warm coats, hats and gloves as they head for school tomorrow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to dip below zero, with wind chills as low as 10 to 25 degrees below zero. In such conditions, frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin.
The conditions could possibly result in a delay in the start of school Friday. Please check the Penn Manor cell phone app, website and Twitter page, as well as local media outlets regarding a possible delay. You may also dial the district’s weather hotline, at 872-9500 ext. 2333.
Please be safe outdoors.
School will now be in session on Monday, March 23, 2015, due to today’s school cancellation.
