Bus number 132 just pulled out from Conestoga about 5 minutes ago. They are running about 20-25 minutes behind schedule.
Due to the forecast for this morning and throughout the afternoon, we are getting out of school at 12:30 today.
Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at Conestoga Elementary School.
DECEMBER PTO MEETING
This month we are replacing the regularly scheduled PTO meeting with a
>>> Winter Wreath Making Party <<<
Wednesday, December 3rd at 6pm
Come out to share in the fun! For a small fee of $5, you can make and take a beautiful wreath, which would normally sell for $20 or more! It’s so easy and fun to make! If you do not wish to purchase a wreath, please come and join the fun anyway. One lucky person will win a free wreath!
We would love help making extra wreaths to sell at the December Santa Shoppe!
Hot chocolate and light refreshments will be served. If you are able to bring a snack to share, please email Vicki at firstname.lastname@example.org. Come out and get in a festive mood!
- Any important PTO news will be announced or flyers will be handed out at the meeting.
Please bring a food item from our ROCK donation list to help those in need.
As we approach the winter holidays, it reminds us that many families are still recovering from bad economic situations. Over the years, the Conestoga staff and community have done an exceptional job of giving to members of our Conestoga family. We are trying to create ways to offer assistance. In support of this project, we are asking families who were considering giving their teacher a gift this holiday, to instead, offer a donation to go toward helping.
If you are interested, please place your donation in an envelope marked “Pay it Forward”. If writing a check, please make payable to the Conestoga PTO.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
The Conestoga Faculty
There is no school on Monday, December 1st. (still part of Thanksgiving break)
There is a 1:30 early dismissal on 12/23. A.M. Kdg. attends & has lunch at school (NO P.M. KDG.)
Winter break is from December 24th through January 1st.
Friday, January 2nd, is a weather make up day, if needed. No School this date if not needed.
Winter temperatures have arrived. Please make sure your child has the appropriate attire to be comfortable while playing outside (hats, gloves, scarves, coats, etc). As long as the weather permits, our playground monitors take the children outside for recess and we would like to make sure the children are dressed properly to match the temperatures.
Thank you to the GREATEST team of parents and kids who came out for our work day in the garden! Despite the cold weather, we were able to accomplish the task of removing all of the old mulch, which had broken down and turned into compost. We were able to add some of it to the rain garden which we expanded by a few feet on either side. Special thanks to Gary Broderick for bringing and operating his tractor, which was a huge help in completing such a big task. We look forward to making the garden an even better space for students, teachers and the whole school!
