BOXTOPS Cafe Challenge

Thank you students, families and friends for sending in your BOXTOPS. Conestoga classes enjoyed the recent BOXTOP Cafe Challenge and Mrs. Fellenbaum’s classed brought in the most box tops so they will be enjoying lunch tomorrow from the PTO.  Thank you Lauren Groff and the entire PTO for all your hard work with this throughout the year and promoting boxtop collecting at our school.

BoxtopsLauren reported that the PTO earned $1,388.60 from this BOXTOP Spring Challenge. Please continue to save and send in those BOXTOPS.

 

 

PTO Meetings Scheduled

The regular monthly PTO meeting will be held on March 12 at 7 p.m. in the library.

There is a Cruising for Conestoga Committee PTO meeting on March 5 at 7 p.m. in the library.

Visitor’s Badges

visitor badgePlease double check at home, in your coat pockets, in your pocket books, etc.  We are missing many visitor’s badges from the office. It’s easy to go home wearing them I’m know, but if you wouldn’t mind returning them we’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

 

R.O.C.K. Program At Conestoga

The PTO developed a pilot program to help students with food over the weekend. Many of you may have heard of Power Packs or SWEEP, which are programs run through local food banks and churches. This program would model those ideas but would be funded primarily though PTO, fundraising, and donations within our community.
We are starting small—5 families to participate–and we are offering food backpacks over the weekends during the winter.  If we find we have enough support and resources to continue, we will extend our help into the spring months.
Our PTO representatives solicited community donations from places like Pine View Dairy, Darrenkamps, Weis, Target, etc. If you’d like to help, we will gladly accept your donations from the attached list of items that are needed.
Thank you for considering this through the upcoming weeks . . . And THANKS AGAIN to everyone who helped to support the Conestoga Angel Program this year.  We successfully helped over 12 families with clothing, books, games, wrapping paper, etc.!  PTO also generously gave each of the 12 families a gift card to shop for food at Weis over the holiday break. This wouldn’t be possible without all of your continued support!

online registrationYou can find the new website that explains the student registration process if you go to www.pennmanor.net.  Select “registering a new student” under the parent heading. There are instructions for kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school registration, plus a frequently asked questions and what documents to bring section.

The new system is designed to streamline registration for parents and improve the district’s student record-keeping. Right now it is only for parents enrolling their children in KINDERGARTEN for the 2014-2015 school year. Beginning in June, the online system will be used to register new students for ALL GRADES.

After completing the form, kindergarten parents still need to attend Kindergarten Registration Day to complete the registration process. Conestoga Elementary’s registration day is Tuesday, March 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Parents who do not complete the online registration in advance will get the opportunity to do so on a district computer during registration day.

To attend kindergarten next school year, your child must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2014.

 

Summer B.R.E.A.K. Program Canceled

Due to academic schedule changes and school renovation plans, Penn Manor School District will not be offering the Summer B.R.E.A.K. program this summer.

The decision to cancel was based on the need to extend the academic year as a result of the numerous weather-related school cancellations this winter and the amount of renovation work that will be under way at district schools beginning in June.

Penn Manor intends to resume the program, which provides enrichment activities for students in pre-school to grade six during summer vacation, for the 2014-2015 school year.
