Conestoga Magnets for Sale

Our wonderful PTO is selling Conestoga car magnets for $5. The magnets are 5 inches in diameter and have the Penn Manor blue and gold logo in the center.

If you can’t use it on your car, buy one for your refrigerator. They make a nice gift for a friend or relative. Show your school pride and don’t miss the chance to purchase a magnet. The magnets are available in the school office. Thank you for your continued support of our PTO, who provide assemblies and help offset field trip costs for the students at Conestoga Elementary.

Penn Manor “Perks”

PERKS event will be held October 3, 2012, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Letort Elementary School. The school is located at 561 Letort Road. This is a time for preschoolers and their parents to enjoy a story and short activity together. If you need transportation to the story time, please contact Joy Meley at 201-9934, but you must provide a car seat for your child.

Four other schools will host PERKS throughout the year and there will be postings regarding those dates, so stay tuned.  Attend as many sessions as you like throughout the year.

Free coffee for adults & refreshments will be served.

Enjoying the Garden

Conestoga teachers and students have found a variety of ways to enjoy the Conestoga Garden this year.  Activities have included Mrs. Falk’s class using the herbs and vegetables from the garden to make mini pizzas and herbal tea, our third graders sampling potatoes they harvested from the garden, and our second graders learning all about worms.  These are just a few of the examples of how teachers are using it a valuable resource.

2nd Grade cares for worms 🙂

Meet the Teacher 9/13 from 4:30 to 6:30

Mark your calendars!  Thursday, September 13, 2012, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. is our annual “Meet the Teacher” night at Conestoga.  Come meet your child’s teacher and see the wonderful things that have been going on in the classrooms.  Following Meet the Teacher, there is a PTO “Meet and Greet” at 6:15 in the all-purpose room.  This is a great opportunity to see and meet the PTO officers for the year, hear about some of the planned events and even sign up to help.  The PTO will have car magnets for sale for $5.00 from 5:45 to 6:15 and you can purchase them all year in the office.

Information about Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Daisy Scouts will be available in the lobby as well. You can continue to support Conestoga by collecting Box Tops.  They can be dropped off in the lobby any time during the year.  A good way to stay current with school happenings is to sign up for the Conestoga Blog so you receive electronic notification of any postings made on the school blog.

This is an exciting time for your child, so please be sure to bring the whole family out on the 13th. We look forward to seeing you!

Cafeteria News

Please note that the MYNUTRIKIDS website has changed to MYSCHOOLBUCK.COM.  All parents registered on MYNUTRIKIDS should have received an email notification of the change.  All the information has been transferred to the new website.  MYSCHOOLBUCK.COM allows parents to use their credit card or PayPal to make payments to the student’s cafeteria account.  If you previously setup low balance email alerts in MYNUTRIKIDS.COM you will need to again set up those alerts in your MYSCHOOLBUCKS account.  Please remember that if your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch then he or she also qualifies for a free breakfast.
