Founding Families Garden Fundraiser

Dear Parents,

By now most of you are aware of the PTO/Donor sponsored School Garden and Outdoor Classroom project, as a flyer was sent home November 21st. Recapping the letter, we have already secured one grant from the Chestnut Grove Foundation, and we are in the process of seeking funds from additional grants as well as local and outside businesses. We want to extend this opportunity to you to support this project as one of our Founding Families. Be sure to share this exciting news with your extended family, as well. Our goal is to raise $8,000 for Phase 1 of the project. Donations will be used toward the costs of the following:

  • 11 raised-bed boxes
  • potting table
  • tool shed
  • 3 compost bins
  • 5 round container planters, 3 oblong containers
  • Tools & supplies for student,  teacher & volunteer use

Would you please consider donating to this project? No donation is too small! To recognize your gift, names of the Founding Families will be displayed in the garden. We are looking in to a number of creative ways to do this, and will provide details as they become available. Look for the following in the near future:  a garden newsletter blog which can be assessed from our school website and in the lobby display case entitled “As the Garden Grows”.

Thank you in advance for your support.

This gives you an opportunity to stay connected to what’s going on at your child’s school.

It’s simple. Go to our school blog site. It’s

Enter your email address in the Subscribe by Email field on the left side of the home page. Then click Create Subscription and  you’re done!

You’ll be in the loop for all future blog posts concerning school events, PTO news, and even get to enjoy pictures of various events happening around the school. There are many valuable links on the right side of the home page, such as lunch menus, school forms, etc. Across the top are various tabs such as educational links, the staff, PTO news, etc. The site is user-friendly and you will find yourself quickly navigating around the Conestoga Blog.

The Season’s Upon Us

During the month of November through mid December, Conestoga Elementary School will be collecting canned goods and non-perishables for our annual food drive. Decorated tables are in the lobby for your donations.

We will also be accepting new warm/insulated gloves, hats, scarves or outgrown coats in GOOD condition.

All of the donations will remain right here in our own community. Thank you for continuing to make the holiday season special for others.
